Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday, Kissimmee, FL
Marc- We had a late departure from Ft. Wilderness Campground to get the most of our visit there. Another reason for the late start is that we only had about 15 miles to travel today. We made a stop at Publix to refill our refrigerators (some difficulty finding a spot for our rig in a nearly packed parking lot be we managed in the far corner). We arrived at the KOA around 13:00 and were welcomed to a nice quiet campsite away from any highway. This campground is situated on Seven Dwarf's Lane behind the shopping strip on Highway 530. The Highway has all of the usual shopping and food outlets we have found everywhere we've been in Florida: Target, Walmart, Camper's World, Publix, Cracker Barrel, Wendy's.
Once we set up the camper, we set off for Target for a few more missing items. After dinner we walked over to a nearby Miniature Golf based on the travels of Stanley and Livingstone into Africa. This place had everything from a real airplane crashed into the side of a man made hillside (there are no hills in Florida) to small live alligators in the water traps. I wonder how many golf balls they have eaten. The landscaping with tropical plants was well done.
