Explorations from Kissimmee

13 - 14 February 2022
Orlando / Kissimmee KOA Holiday, Kissimmee, FL

Marc- We have wandered around a bit during the last two days. The Super Bowl game kept us close to home yesterday. We had to deal with rain most of the morning. After lunch we went over to a nearby Campers World and looked a larger camper (we found a Flagstaff model that we liked but the trade-in value for our current camper was too low). At this point we needed some real exercise so we decided to head over to Celebration and walk around their excellent walkways and forest trails. There was even a Kilwin's Ice Cream shop to energize us. Today''s weather was clear and cool starting out in the 40's and going up to the low 60's with full sunshine. We drove up to Blue Spring State Park in Orange City to visit this really special spot for viewing manatees and fish. We arrived about 09:00 and found a good shady parking spot. Unfortunately there were fewer manatees here than during my last visit last month (90 manatees vs. 250 manatees). The inhabitants here in winter include various birds, manatees, various fish and alligators. We saw some of all of these. The Blue Spring Run did not disappoint with its many viewing areas. I did two videos here: Gator and manatee swimming about: https://youtube.com/watch?v=LUQzuVm-Oag&feature=share . and Tilapia fish preparing breeding holes: https://youtube.com/shorts/_vI9WztGAwg?feature=share .

- On our return trip we stopped over at Disney Springs and walked around the shopping and resort areas. I like the Saratoga Springs Resort with its equine influence.
