Onward to Hunting Island, South Carolina...

 March 2022

Hunting Island State Park Campground, Hunting Island, South Carolina

Marc-  We packed up after our morning walk and off we went up Route 95 to South Carolina passing through Beaufort (pronounced Bewfert).  Hunting Island State Park is a pleasant surprise.  The Island is covered by tall Slash Pine trees as well as a variety of Palm trees.  There are also Eucalyptus trees, which help repel mosquitoes.  We did not see any bugs, and we walked 4.6 miles. The beaches are beyond beautiful and a large lighthouse is right in the middle just in shore of the beach.  One surprise today was the soaring cost of diesel fuel.  We paid $ 4.39 / gallon yesterday to fill the tank and today it was $ 4.99 to $ 5.20 / gallon.  Last week we paid $ 3.59 /gallon.
