First Street, Fort Myers
Marc- We explored some of Fort Myers today with some shopping, dining and being tourists. We met up with our friend Roberta in the afternoon and later with more friends, Mike and Barbara, for dinner at Izzy's Fish and Oyster Restaurant on First Street. First Street is the main commercial street in the historic downtown of Fort Myers near the Caloosahatchee Riverfront. The vibrant old downtown fared well in hurricane Ian sustaining only minor damage. This part of the City is very artsy with theaters, art galleries and steel street art.

Both public and private marinas in Fort Myers were severely damaged and have not recovered. Most of the boats were destroyed but a few are still afloat.
