Marc-   We are getting our gear ready for the major snorkeling trip on February 16th.  We will travel down to the Dry Tortugas National Park.  There is military significance there up through the 19th century.  The US built its largest fortress there:  Fort Jefferson was designed with major gun emplacements commanding access to the shipping lanes into the Gulf of Mexico.  The coral reefs and small islands are home to much marine life including tropical fish and loggerhead sea turtles.  There are a lot of shipwrecks making it interesting for both diving and snorkeling.  300 species of birds, particularly various terns, boobies, frigate birds, owls and migratory species nest there.  We are looking forward to the trip.  We have our snorkeling gear, and Bill Lewis gave us the go pro camera and today he sent us the underwater kit.

Most of today was spent doing plumbing repairs on Lucy III.  They are getting to know me at Home Depot where I needed parts once again.  Michael drove me there.  Let me just say that all of the leaks in the head have been fixed.

We had a nice evening at Blackfin Marina with Michael and Doreen.  Sue grilled chicken and Doreen provided everything else.  Michael provided the entertainment with a high speed wifi connection and access to NHL games.  The Rangers v. Bruins game ended 3-2 Bruins in overtime.  Look here for the final goal:  https://youtu.be/C82Q37xHF28
