CODA STILL HERE IN THE BAHAMAS 2025 (40)

CODA : Living the life in the Exuma Islands, Bahamas.

19 February 2025

"Da Middle" anchorage, Elizabeth Harbour, Georgetown, Great Exuma Cay, Bahamas

The George town Exuma Cruising Regatta is here.

Marc-  We looked at the categories of Regatta activities: large boat race,  poker race, volleyball, variety show, beach golf ...  we picked bocce (pétanque en francais) with a refresher practice at 2 pm today.   I thought about volunteering to supervise kid's boatbuilding for racing sailboats.  Glad I didn't since I saw some of the intricate designs later: sleek monohulls, cool catamarans. Some had square rigged sails and others were sloop rigged with spinnakers.

Sue and I really enjoyed the bocce practice.  Half of the participants were Canadian, and all spoke English and French well.

Dinghys at Chat 'N' Chill Beach.

Talk about a low key atmosphere.

Pick up volleyball before real practices begin.

We had lunch here.

I was impressed by this license plate.  (Hard to believe it's the peace garden state when it has 300 Inter-continental Ballistic missiles and 30 Anti-Ballistic missiles ready to use in a nuclear war.)

Welcome aboard!

Sue:  We are running out of things to do in Georgetown.  The crossword puzzle with Brian and Michael (Gilmartin), and the bocce, saved us today.  Tomorrow is the start of the Regatta events with the poker run.  And John (Gilmartin) comes on Friday, so lots to look forward to.  What would we do without Gilmartins in our lives?
