Lucy III all cleaned up (without her freshwater mustache stains from the Waccamaw River).

Marc-  This is our last day here in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  We were fortunate enough to visit the Cape Lookout National Seashore Visitor Center and saw the Shackleford Banks by boat.  We viewed the Rachel Carson Preserve daily.  Today we walked the village streets once again and admired the small, old, well kept homes.  We also took a historic house tour given by the Beaufort Historical Society.  The "house tour" included visiting a colonial courthouse, the 18th century jail (used until 1955) and the apothecary ( a pharmacy and doctor's office).  Houses seen included a sea captain's home, the home of a wealthy merchant, and finally the home of a village teacher.

The Beaufort boardwalk.

The only sign needed for the local diner where we enjoyed breakfast.

Very aromatic Jasmine flowers found in many places in the area.  We can smell them from the ICW.
