A Marathon manatee enjoying the sun.

Marc-  Today we altered our walking a bit to go around the golf course and then over to Home Depot across the harbor.  The Home Depot visit was to see what they had in stock for waterproof cherry flooring.  I am not quite ready to replace the flooring, just looking into a future project.  On the way back from Home Depot we passed the manatee taking in some sun to warm up on a cool day.  We did make it back in time for the Gilmartin NY Times Crossword puzzle Zoom session.

Installation of the new carburetor.

The project of the day was replacing the Atomic 4 carburetor that had caused us some problems on the trip South this past Fall.  Michael came over to assist with the transplant procedure.  Removal went well except for getting the old gasket off.  The new carburetor went in well except when it came to attachment of the throttle cable.  The throttle linkage on the new model did not have a tapped tightening screw but a bolt with a nut that was inaccessible.  The photo will show how little space there is to work in.  Most of the install time was spent attaching the throttle linkage.  Once completely installed, I turned the key and the engine started immediately.  I later did a minor idle speed adjustment.   We even have some videotape:

We've had some relief from the unusually high temperatures and humidity.  The weather has been glorious!
