CODA BACK IN THE THE USA 2025 (70).

CODA : Exploring Vero Day 3

21 March 2025

Vero Beach Mooring field, Vero Beach, Florida

Yes we're still here.

We had a nice breakfast planned but almost did not get to it because the reliable Yamaha would not start this morning (Sue rescued us by rowing us to the dock).

Marc-  We enjoyed a very nice breakfast with our mooring raft up boater Denis at the "First Watch" restaurant.  The rest of the morning was spent shopping and provisioning.  We met up with my cousin Armand and went to a concert at the Riverside Theater Complex. Fun time and we still had time to stop for ice cream and a visit to a beach we had not been to previously.  We are lucky to have Armand to visit with and drive us around.  The ice cream shop we like is called Cravings.  Their ice cream is excellent.

Good way to start the day.

I made pizza for lunch (with store bought dough).  The ingredients were dough, pomodoro sauce, Cabot shredded cheddar, chicken and basil.  Delicious!

Concert.

The band.

The location provided the seating and you could by dinner and drinks. Nice shady setting.

Since we were at the Theatre anyway we had our photo taken with some show props (free).
Yes, we are wearing down jackets.  The temp this morning was 52, and it was in the 60s this afternoon, but windy and truly cold (for people who have become accustomed to wearing t-shirts and shorts, and temperatures never dropping below the 70s).  Two nights ago the temp dropped to 47 and I started the diesel heater.
Banyan tree in the park near the theatre.

Our last stop was at South Beach in Vero.  Beautiful beach.

Sue:  We had a nice time with Denis at breakfast.  We took the bus to get to the restaurant he knew from a prior visit here with his wife.  Then I got some new clothes at Anthony's, the clothing store "for women over 50."  We went to West Marine and the fellow working there, John Bacon, is a 1980 Olympic skier from Vermont.  He grew up in Weybridge, VT, is a boater, knew Point Bay Marina and Charlotte very well.  His grandfather owned (or ran?) the Brick Store.  He knew boaters we know.
In retirement he lives in Vero Beach and Barnegat Bay, NJ.

Then we enjoyed going out with Armand.  Tomorrow we are going for a walk in the park beyond the Museum of Art on the track Armand showed us tonight.  Then we have an errand to do downtown, and at 1pm Armand and Michelle are picking us up.  We'll go to Squid Lips in Sebastian for lunch, and then they are driving me to the airport in Melbourne, and I'm flying home.  Armand and Michelle have been very kind to us and have added so much to our time here.  We love Vero Beach!  Signing off for now.
