Sailing South aboard Lucy III: 2020-2021 (Day 38)

Dowry Creek Marina, Belhaven, North Carolina. October 11, 2020

Marc-  Rain and wind forecast (heavy rain with 20-30 knot wind) for today has kept us in port.  You would not have guessed it from the morning conditions of calm and light drizzle.  Sue and I went walking near the marina and saw three white tailed deer.  The area has a waterfront subdivision being built out with high end homes in the 2500 - 3000 square foot range.  Most are built on pilings up 10 feet above ground.  This allows for a large garage and storage area beneath.  Sue looked one home up and the price listed is $ 595K.  Lots are going for $ 33K.

Some good news:  The battery reconfiguration (new Deka Group 31 AGM battery for engine starting only and three old Group 31 AGM batteries for the house bank)  has resulted in engine starting reliably and inverter operated devices working well.

Our current location.  Tomorrow we head for the coast.
