CODA BAHAMAS BOUND 2024-2025 (10)

CODA : Another day on the Jersey side of the Hudson River

1 October 2024

Edgewater Municipal Marina, Edgewater, New Jersey

A go fast boat that looks like something built in the 1920's as a "commuter boat"
(maybe it doubled as a rum runner during Prohibition).

Marc-  I spent most of today doing some boat repairs and walking the riverwalk some 6 miles.  There were about a dozen boats heading South at various times split equally between power and sail.  The sailboats were all seen taking advantage of the strong outgoing tidal currents.  The boats heading South are in a holding pattern once they reach Atlantic Highlands waiting for a weather window to head offshore along the New Jersey coast.  The Atlantic is still rough right now with Northeast wind of 20 knots and 7 foot waves, every 6 seconds, 3 miles out from shore.

Rather gloomy sky with some clearing over NYC today.  CODA is on the right. We are the only sailboat allowed in here.
